Hyundai Kona — New look in a larger package

(April 21, 2024) The second-generation Hyundai Kona compact crossover is here and I found it improved in almost every aspect from the first generation including technology, interior size, and styling. The styling part is, of course, in the eye the beholder and it has garnered some negative reviews. There wasn't much — other than interior space — to gripe about with the first-generation Kona. Don't forget it was named North American Utility of the Year in 2019.

Infiniti Q50 survives as lone sedan in Infiniti lineup

(April 18, 2024) The Q50 sedan was an all-new model when it was introduced as a replacement for the G37 in Infiniti’s lineup, but despite its double-digit age, it has gone through no major modifications and remains part of the vehicle’s first generation, a rare shelf-life in the automotive world. Not only that, with the discontinuation of the Q60 after the 2022 model, the 2024 Infiniti Q50 is the only sedan offering in the company’s five-vehicle portfolio. Crossover SUVs bearing QX designations fill out the lineup.

(April 14, 2024) The mid-sized luxury SUV segment requires a stylish, technology-loaded, and performance-infused  vehicle to be competitive, and the Infiniti QX60 — which reached the marketplace as a 2022 model — makes its statement as a crossover that needs more than a passing glance. It might just have the right combination of luxury panache for the demanding customer.

(April 7, 2024) As car buyers are shying away from purchasing fully electric cars they are not abandoning electrified vehicles, voting with their pocketbooks for hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions that in addition to featuring electric motors and batteries are backed up by gas engines. Makes sense at least until the public EV charging infrastructure is expanded and the myriad of other EV concerns are put to rest.

BMW 7 Series gets fully electric drive capability in i7 sedan

PHOENIX — Like the standard issue compact GLC SUV from which it's based upon, the second generation GLC Coupe tested here as a 2024 model is basically a smaller, sportier version that's grown a bit larger length and height, yet remains the same width. So slight is the visual change between the old and new would require them to be parked side by side to see the grille now favors the AMG variants along with the stylized propeller on either side and of course the enormous trim-star moniker.
